No one knows cruising like we do. Creating unforgettable holiday happiness for our thousands of guests is in our DNA. We do this through living and breathing our Culture Essentials, having a strong shared vision and purpose, and by working toward our goals together. Successful organisations are created by inspired team members who clearly understand where we are headed and their role in helping us get there. Our performance and development cycle helps us to ensure we are all headed in the same direction.

Through 2024, driving a performance-led culture is a strategic priority as we seek to drive a step change in business results. To support this focus, we’re reviewing our performance management framework to enable us to set clearer expectations, develop our leaders and support team members.

As part of this we are aligning with the rest of Carnival Corporation and moving from a seven-point rating scale to a universal three-point scale for performance ratings – more information can be found in the performance rating and calibration meeting section.

To support colleagues and line managers to fully understand the three-point appraisal rating scale and to have effective and valuable conversations throughout the performance cycle, additional information and guidance will be shared with everyone ahead of mid-year conversations.

We want all of our colleagues to feel connected and inspired to reach their full potential and perform at their best every day. Click on each stage of the performance cycle below to find out more and how to prepare for each touchpoint.

Talking about our performance should be a regular conversation

Our performance and development is our own responsibility. We should discuss our performance regularly as part of our 121s, so there are no surprises when we discuss how we are doing more formally during mid and end-of-year conversations. Click here for some tips on making the most out of your 121 conversations. Check-in documents are available on myHR portal if you’d like to document your conversations.
