February is Cancer Awareness Month at CUK, which sees the start of our new cancer prevention series to help us spot the signs, Take Notice of cancer symptoms, and know where to go for support. Look out for posters in the bathrooms at Carnival House that will focus on a range of cancer types throughout the year. This month we’ll be focusing on breast cancer.

Take Notice is one of our 5 ways to wellbeing. It’s about prioritising your own health and wellbeing, by being more mindful, taking notice of symptoms, and making time for health-related appointments around work. So, if you spot something that doesn’t seem right or is worrying you – make sure you Take Notice and get checked by your GP.

What’s on this month?

  • Our first Cancer Café of 2024 on 6 February, 10:00 – 11:00, in Vancouver room. An informal network aimed at supporting colleagues who have been diagnosed with cancer. It’s a safe place for you to pop in and connect with others going through a similar experience. Add the event to your diary here.
  • Meet the OH and Wellbeing team at our anchor day Community Fayre in The Atrium, 10:00-12:00 on Wednesday 7 February and look out for support materials and information you can take away.
