Thank you to everyone who took part in our 2023 Oceans Alive challenge – the judges are now working hard to look through the entries and winners will be announced in late July so watch this space!

Our teams onboard some of our ships certainly had some fun with this challenge as you can see below…

Iona’s Ocean’s Alive event

Iona’s Housekeeping team put on a fantastic event for their crew. It featured a variety of activities, including a poster-making competition. The poster-making competition was a great way for the team members to express their creativity and share their ideas about ocean conservation.

Manoj Kumar, Housekeeping manager had this to say: “The “Oceans Alive” event was a huge success, and it was a great team-building event. The team members worked together to organise and execute the event, and they all had a lot of fun participating in the activities. I am proud to work with such a dedicated and passionate team. I would like to thank the housekeeping team for organising such a successful event, and I would like to encourage all employees to continue to get involved in ocean conservation.”

Queen Victoria’s Day of the Seafarer competition

Queen Victoria had a Recycled Decoration Competition as part of Day of The Seafarer which encouraged them to create a unique ocean themed decoration out of recycled materials. The displays were then put on show in the Crew Mess for all crew to enjoy.

Douglas Lauder, Environmental Officer, said; “The displays were very good and well thought out using items from the Recycling Centre.  Each entrant talked through what they had used and the idea behind it.”
