We’re delighted to reveal our new charity partnership with Monty’s Community Hub.

Here at Carnival UK we’re passionate about offering our people identifiable, open and inclusive opportunities. We want to be rooted in our local community with a focus on enhancing employee engagement opportunities and showcasing the amazing Carnival UK community spirit in and around our home ground of Southampton. It’s therefore no surprise that this year our new Charity Partner, Monty’s Community Hub, was voted top of the list to become our Charity Partner for 2022 – 2023.

A bit about Monty’s

Monty’s is a newly discovered creative community hub in the heart of Sholing, Southampton. The building is based at Montague Avenue, which is how they got the name Monty’s, but Monty’s is more than a building,  it’s a community.

Monty’s offers a collaborative diverse community space where local people get together and offer their skills, time, and energy to creatively address local needs and develop local solutions. Together they host groups and activities for children, young people, adults, and families – a place for the whole community to meet up, make friends, learn, and share skills.

Putting the fun into fundraising

As a growing, newly discovered local charity, we have the privilege to support significant milestones in the growth of Monty’s offerings. That’s why we’ve set ourselves the target to raise £20,000 over the yearly partnership for 2022 – 2023.

We’re delighted to be Carnival UK’s Charity Partner for 2022. Your ambitious fundraising target and volunteer involvement will have a hugely positive impact on our work with young people, the elderly, and families in our community of Sholing. We’re particularly excited to continue and develop our work around sustainability and the environment, through our Community Pantry, Building and Gardening Services, and Bike Hub projects, all of which will benefit immensely from our partnership with Carnival UK.

Monty’s Community Hub Team

As a registered charity, Monty’s is mainly run by volunteers. They believe everyone has something to offer or contribute and they can’t wait to see how our Carnival UK colleagues will get involved. For an overview of all sessions at Monty’s Community Hub, check out the ‘What’s on’ page on their website here.

The Charity Partnership Team needs you!

Back in February we went out with a request for volunteers to form a new Carnival UK charity partnership team and the response we had was phenomenal. We’re delighted to confirm that this team will now take the lead on our brand new 2022 charity partnership.

The team will be working closely with the charity to provide lots of opportunities to volunteer individually or as a team. To better support you with this they’ll soon be letting you know how you can get involved.

In the meantime, there’s lots of other ways to get involved at Monty’s and we can’t wait to get started! The team are looking for between 10-15 volunteers to help support Monty’s very own Queen’s Jubilee celebration event on Friday 3 June. Volunteers can attend with their families and choose when to support from 10:00-12:00, 12:00-14:00 or 14:00-16:00. All volunteers are also more than welcome to stay at the event and enjoy the festivities. If you want to put yourself forward for this activity, please get in touch with Sarah Earing by 17:00 on Monday 30 May.
