Last night Carnival UK was named as Employer of the Year at the Maritime UK Solent Awards!

The second event of its kind, there were 90 entries across 13 categories, with winners being announced at a Black Tie event at Portsmouth Historic Dockyard’s Boatyard 7.

Carnival UK was one of three finalists in the Employer of the Year category, competing against Marine Resources Ltd and National Oceanography Centre.

Liz Hardy, Senior Director, People (Maritime), collected the award on behalf of Carnival UK;

“Being named as Employer of the Year is a huge accolade for us. We’re committed to empowering colleagues and promoting opportunity and inclusion within the maritime sector.

We work hard to create a culture that we can all be proud of and to be recognised for this externally is testament to every one of us at Carnival UK.”

The Maritime UK Solent Awards is the most prestigious event in the region’s maritime calendar, with guests including Tom Coles, Lord Mayor of Portsmouth, and Penny Mordaunt, Leader of the House of Commons and Portsmouth North MP.

As published in the awards ceremony programme of events, Anne-Marie Mountifield, Maritime UK Solent Chair, said: “The Maritime UK Solent Awards offer a unique opportunity for the industry to come together here on the South Coast to showcase the Solent’s world-class maritime innovation and technical excellence.”

Entering (and winning!) regional awards like this help increase our employer brand awareness in the local area, supporting our ambition to be Travel’s Employer of Choice.
