Together with all brands in our Carnival family, we’re taking action to reduce our impact on the environment and invest in our communities and people to deliver positive change – not just for today, but for the long term.

With 11 ships sailing the world’s incredible oceans, a big part of this is our responsibility to help preserve and protect our marine environment. One of the ways we do this is by giving back to the destinations we visit through our series of beach and coastal cleans.

On Thursday 27 June, 25 crew members from Azura joined forces with Marc Galea Pace from the Coast is Clear Foundation, and the MBL Malta Cruise Services Team, to clean the coastal hills of Golden Bay Beach and Riviera Beach in Malta.

In just 2 hours, the team collected 28 large sacks of rubbish, totalling 115kg – great job, Team Azura! Thanks to everyone who took part.

Steve Angel, Sustainability Senior Manager, said:

“Malta is such an important destination for P&O Cruises, so I’m really pleased that we’ve been able to deliver this beach and coastal clean here. We plan to continue this partnership in Malta with more beach cleans this year, as well as expanding the programme to more destinations and ships across our fleet.”
