There was fun all round on Iona this festive season with a whole host of special events for our brilliant colleagues on board.

From mask masking for a special masquerade party, to a special performance of Deck the Halls thanks to our amazing Headliners Theatre Company, Christmas Super Bingo, crew gift giving and much more, there was lots of festive fun to enjoy.

One particular event really stood out – upcycled Christmas trees!  We caught up with the team to find out more…

“As part of our Christmas fun activities on board Iona, we had a competition for the crew which was suggested by Kelly Braithwaite, our HR Manager. She dreamed up this idea for the crew to have a fun event on board, which included a great message about our commitment to looking after our environment.”

This mission? Create a Christmas tree made completely from recycled waste materials! Check them out…

“In the days running up to Christmas Eve we held an event where all the trees were displayed in Iona’s Atrium and we asked our guests to vote for their favourite. We had 19 trees overall and the most fantastic array of creativity and imagination you’ve ever seen – all made from discarded materials found on board which were destined for recycling and offloading.”

The guests loved the trees, with over 1,600 voting for their favourite – an outstanding response. Big congratulations to the winning teams:
