For reasons beyond our control, P&O Cruises has taken the decision to cancel Arvia’s first cruise which was scheduled to depart Southampton on 9 December.

Paul Ludlow, President of P&O Cruises said:

Whilst we know this news will be disappointing for those guests impacted, we’ve made this decision as we will not compromise on the high standards of build, interior design and service for which P&O Cruises is known. This means Arvia’s first sailing will now be 23 December to Spain, Portugal and the Canary Islands prior to the ship repositioning to the Caribbean in January.

I know how hard so many of you are working to bring Arvia into service, so I appreciate this news is disappointing. However, I believe it’s absolutely the right thing to do for our people and our guests, to make sure Arvia and her ship’s company are fully ready to create the extraordinary travel experiences of which we’re very proud.”

If you’re a fleet colleague due to join Arvia, there’s currently no change to your joining date. Should there be any update to this, our fleet operations team or Global Talent Partners will contact you directly.

All impacted guests are being contacted from 14:00 UK time today and will be given a full refund, plus an additional 10% Future Cruise Credit (FCC) to use on a future booking. They’ll also be invited to a ship tour and loyalty lunch onboard Arvia ahead of her first sailing, so they can still be among the first guests to experience our newest ship.

Thank you for your continued efforts in ensuring we deliver this incredible ship. If you have any questions please refer to our Q&A here:
