Carnival Corporation & plc (CCO)  has taken over the operation of a cruise terminal in Santa Cruz de Tenerife.

The facility is the only cruise terminal in Tenerife and is a gateway for Guests visiting the Canary Islands. Built by the local port authority, its construction was completed in 2016 and CCO will now operate the terminal long term under a concession agreement.

The terminal can accommodate the new class of “next-generation” green cruise ships that will be fully operated by liquefied natural gas (LNG), the world’s cleanest burning fossil fuel.  The AIDAnova will make its maiden call on 18/19 December 2018.

How will Carnival UK and the wider corporation benefit?

Investments such as this are important to ensure the servicing of our ships, and the Guest experience is the very best available whilst in port. The long term concession to manage and operate the facility will provide our ships with priority access to Santa Cruz de Tenerife for years to come and allow us to continue to exceed Guest expectations.
