Million Makers is back! Last week we introduced you to some of this year’s team hoping to raise £30,000 for Cunard’s charity partner, and one of CUK’s chosen charities, The Prince’s Trust.
Million Makers is an innovative entrepreneurial challenge which sees teams of employees, from organisations across the UK, competing to raise as much as possible from an initial seed funding investment. The challenge collectively raises over £1 million every year to change the lives of young people across the UK.
This year’s team have set themselves the challenge of raising £30,000 from a range of internal and external events hosted across the year in Carnival House, online and across the fleet. Let’s meet the rest of them:
Tim Mathieson, Product Executive – I’m really excited to be part of Team Cunard in this year’s Million Makers challenge. I’m looking forward to collaborating with colleagues across the business and raising money for The Prince’s Trust, which is such a worthwhile cause. I’ve been with the business working in shore experiences, ship and shore, for a number of years but I’ve not participated in an event like this before and can’t wait to see what we achieve.
Emma Perkins, Digital Content Executive – I am thrilled to participate in the Million Makers challenge as it is a chance for me to develop my professional skills while benefitting a worthy cause. I am looking forward to collaborating and learning new skills from our remarkable team, and I am excited to find out what we can accomplish.
Georgia Bird, Accounts Payable Team Leader – I jumped at the opportunity to join this year’s Million Makers team as I am passionate about helping others and want to make a difference to young people’s lives. I’m also keen to build on my relationships within CUK and meet new people across the business as I only joined just over a year ago. This is also a fantastic opportunity to work with such incredible individuals whilst challenging ourselves to see what we can achieve.
Bob Hurt, Market Insights Manager – For me, Million Makers is about each team member bringing their ideas and experience to create exciting fundraising initiatives which will inspire our guest and employee community to donate money for The Prince’s Trust. It’s great to collaborate with people from across the business to make it happen!
Nicola Berry, Trade Events Executive – Going into 2024, I really felt the need for a new challenge; an opportunity to put myself out of my comfort zone, learn new things, and have that sense of achievement – to be able to say we’ve done something special! Looking forward to lots of fun with this wonderful Million Makers team and raising money for The Princes Trust.
Jenny Swift, Food & Beverage Development Senior Manager – Excited to be part of the Million Makers team – a real opportunity to expand my network and positively contribute to our business culture.
