Monday 13 November saw a sea of celebrations as Cunard, P&O Cruises, Seabourn and Princess Cruises each scooped awards in the 2023 Wave Awards

Dubbed the Oscars of cruising, the Wave Awards is the UK cruise industry’s premier awards. Now in their ninth year, they set a benchmark standard and recognise, reward and celebrate innovation and excellence within the cruise industry.

Cunard won two awards; ‘Best for Wellbeing & Enrichment’ and ‘Favourite Luxury/Premium Cruise Line’. Angus Struthers, Vice President Marketing and Sales said:

“We are over the moon, the Wave Awards really matter and are important to our guests and our agent partners. The big one for us, favourite premium brand, really shows that our guests care for our brand and our message is getting across.”

Meanwhile, P&O Cruises celebrated three wins with ‘Best New Ship Launch for Arvia’, ‘Best Value-for-Money Cruise Line’ and ‘Favourite Ocean Cruise Line’. Rob Scott, Vice President Marketing and Sales said:

“What an amazing evening celebrating the best in the British Cruise Industry. I’m incredibly proud of all the P&O Cruises Team in Southampton and onboard our ships that made this happen. To win the consumer award for ‘Favourite Cruise line’ and two trade awards for ‘Best Value for Monday’ and ‘Best New Ship Launch’ (Arvia) is a real credit to everyone and demonstrates the power of our brand in the UK market.”

Seabourn won two awards for ‘Best Luxury Ocean Cruise Line’ and the ‘Women in Cruise Award’. Lynn Narraway, Seabourn’s Vice-President and winner of the ‘Women in Cruise Award’ said:

“It has been a wonderful year for cruise. But I could not do it without my team and my support system. They are amazing both in the UK and in Europe, and this award is for them.”

And last, but not least, Princess Cruises won Highly Commended for ‘Favourite Luxury/Premium Cruise Line’. Suzanne Korff, Marketing and Communications Director, said:

“This an amazing result for Princess and something are proud of as this was voted for by the public via World of Cruising and The Sun newspaper. A true testament to our incredible team’s hard work on shore and onboard.”

Huge congratulations to our brands – what an incredible achievement.
