Sustainability across Carnival UK and the wider corporation is an integral part of who we and as a result, we have a number of initiatives underway to meet our 2030 sustainability goals. While this work continues we wanted to share what’s hot on the agenda each month from us, the Carnival Corporation and the industry  –  here are the latest headlines:

  • We have conducted interviews with a range of external stakeholders to explore sustainability trends likely to impact Carnival UK. The findings will inform our long-term strategy development.
  • Carnival UK’s internal sustainability communications toolkit has been reviewed and will be shared in the coming weeks via our Senior Leadership Team.
  • Costa Group and Proman have signed an MOU to drive further the implementation of methanol as a marine fuel for the cruise industry. The aim is to accelerate the energy transition and decarbonisation of the fleet.
  • King Charles has co-authored a children’s book ‘Climate Change’ which will be published next month. The book is written for 7-11 year-olds and covers the environmental threats facing our planet. It follows the publication of a similar book for adults in 2017.
  • Feefo, the verified customer feedback platform, has launched a sustainability awareness initiative to help brands communicate what they are doing to operate more sustainably. “This new product will inevitably influence [consumers]purchasing decisions’’, said Tony Wheble, chief executive.
