As we begin preparations for our return to service (RTS), we’re recruiting talent to help us deliver our RTS plan and achieve our business goals. To enable new joiners to meet other colleagues around the business, we’re still running our bi-monthly start dates, and although induction is held over Zoom, the welcome is just as warm as when we were in Carnival House.

Over the past month we’ve welcomed 27 new colleagues to Carnival UK – 18 are brand new to the business, three are fleet colleagues temporarily working with colleagues ashore, and six are familiar faces who have rejoined Carnival UK.

Meet your new colleagues below, and if they are part of a Zoom call, make sure you say hello and welcome them to the team.

We’re asking new colleagues to tell us a bit more about themselves, and if they’d like to, share one thing – this can be anything – that makes them happy!

David Morrison

Hi, my name is David. After spending my working career in the air as cabin crew travelling all over the world it was about time for a change. The next logical move was to a company that’s involved in sea travel.

My passion has always been visiting other countries to experience different cultures and I love sharing my knowledge, and helping people enjoy the same experiences I have. Can’t wait to start my next adventures with Carnival UK.

Katie Purdie

My name is Katie, I’m 24 years old. I’ve recently rejoined Carnival having left the business last year. I rejoined as I really enjoyed my time working at Carnival initially, from the people, to the fast paced environment and the companies culture and values. I am a digital content executive for P&O Cruises, currently working on the onboard portal project. It’s a really exciting project, and I feel lucky to be playing a part in the return to service work.

I’d like to share this really easy cinnamon rolls recipe, which I’ve now made two weekends on the trot!

Nicky Smith

Hi, I’m Nicky. I worked on ships all over the world for 15 years, mainly Carnival Cruise Lines, Cunard and P&O Australia. I loved the lifestyle, but home life called when I turned 30. I came off ships in 2012 and went into teaching travel and tourism. I love inspiring young people about cruise and working in the travel industry. After four years ashore I had twin boys, Leighton and Lucas now aged 2.5yrs.

I have a passion for cruising and the dream job of working for P&O Cruises links my old life on board and my new mummy/wife life ashore! Here I’m ready to go with my new start! Happy to be a part of the team.
