Our very own Baiba Ziga, Resourcing and onboarding consultant, has been chosen as part of this year’s Women to Watch in Hospitality, Travel and Leisure (HTL) Index!

Put together as part of a long-term partnership between The MBS Group, a leading executive search and leadership advisory firm, and Women in Hospitality 2020, the Index profiles 90 women who are excelling in leadership, commercial impact or entrepreneurialism, as well as those who’ve made a wider contribution to the sector. It includes top CEOs and industry leaders driving change in their organisations. As part of an evening to celebrate these women there was a discussion around the fundamental importance of role models in achieving gender diversity.

The Index aims to find not the ‘top’ women in the sector, but to reveal the rich talent pool of women in HTL. The goal is to demonstrate that there are inspirational women across all areas of the sector and at all levels. By undergoing a comprehensive exercise of seeking nominations, conducting personal interviews and reviewing each candidate against a number of criteria, the judging panel arrived at something which really is the first of its kind in its scale, breadth and intent.

Here’s what Baiba had to say…

“This is a huge deal for me – first of all, being recognised and nominated internally is very flattering, then being shortlisted to the final 90 from over 500 nominations, and finally being included in the Women to Watch index alongside all the other inspiring women! Though surreal it’s also very empowering, as most of these women have already carved their way through to the C-suite, while I’m just getting started and still ‘scratching the surface’. I have also signed up to the Women in Hospitality (WiH2020) mentoring scheme, as I think it is even more powerful (and important) to not only recognise the existing players in the industry, but empower and help others to find their way in and through the industry. The fact that I can be at the infancy of my own career and still help others, feels absolutely amazing!”

Congratulations to Baiba for not only representing Carnival UK in this index but she was also last quarter’s performer of the quarter winner in our Value Awards!
