P&O Cruises, Cunard, Princess and Holland America Line all went home as winners from the ‘Cool Cruises’ event by Travel Weekly, the UK’s market-leading publication for the travel industry!

Cool Cruises is now in its seventh year. The awards are voted for entirely by travel agent partners, and shows which lines are leading the way across 20 categories, in both river and ocean. Cool Cruises, is also an indication of how well each cruise line has been at supporting agents in building their knowledge and sales volume over the past year, as suppliers recognise that agents are the front line of cruise selling, so getting the right message out to them – and in turn, their customers – is crucial. Here’s what we won…

P&O Cruises – Best for value and Best for Ex-UK

Rosy Sims, Director – Trade Engagement and Onboard Sales, P&O Cruises said, “These awards are a good barometer of the perception of our holidays in the travel industry as they are voted for by travel agents. We’re really pleased to have held on to our titles for Best for Ex-UK and Best for Value for P&O Cruises.”

Cunard – Best for World Cruise

“Agents have once again voted Cunard as Best for World Cruise, a title of which we are rightly proud. It’s also great news that we have improved our rankings in four other categories; Best for Luxury, Best for Cuisine, Best for Wellness and Best for On Board Learning. These awards reflect not only our excellence on board, but also our engagement with travel agents up and down the UK. Our focus on driving brand knowledge and awareness through ship visits, familiarisation trips, training and support is paying dividends.” Gary Anslow, Sales Director, Cunard

Princess – Best for Asia

Tony Roberts, vice president Princess Cruises UK and Europe, commented, “We are thrilled to once again retain our crown as Best for Asia thanks to our travel agent partners. Picking up the award is testament to Princess’ fantastic Asia-based crew members; our ships that are specially-designed for the region; and sales efforts to promote Asia as an aspirational cruise holiday. In fact Asia has proved so much of a success story it is now our second most popular destination for UK Guests outside of Europe. Princess Cruises’ profile within the region continues to go from strength-to-strength and it’s always rewarding to see this recognised.”

Holland America Line – Best for Alaska

“We are delighted to have won the Alaska award, which demonstrates the success of our trade facing ‘WeAreAlaska’ programme which aims to educate travel partners on selling our Alaska cruises and Land and Sea journeys’. Carly Perkins, Senior Marketing Manager, Holland America Line.
