Throughout the month of October we’re focusing on mental health and spotlighting the five pillars of wellbeing; connect, be active, keep learning, take notice and give. Each week we’ll explore one of the pillars and this week it’s be active.
You don’t have to go to the gym to be active, what’s most important is that you find an activity you enjoy and then you build time into your day or week to do it. This could be a walk, a bike ride, some gardening, joining a local club or taking part in a team sport or class. Joining in with others can help keep you focussed and committed, even if you don’t always feel motivated. You can also keep active at your desk with some simple stretches, or perhaps take a walk at lunchtime – your body will thank you for it at the end of the day.
Each week throughout October we’re sharing a team activity and an individual activity for you to try. This week’s activities are:
Week 3: Team activity – Get stretching!
We challenge you and your team to have a team stretch! Many of us are sitting more than ever before, so it’s important we stretch and build movement into our everyday routines. Watch this short video and get stretching…
Week 3: Individual activity – Exercise your way to better mental health
