Throughout the month of October we’ve been focusing on mental health and spotlighting the five pillars of wellbeing; connect, be active, keep learning, take notice and give. This week, for our final week, we’ll be exploring take notice.

Research suggests that being present or ‘mindful’ can positively change the way we feel and approach challenges, but in our busy lives we can sometimes forget to tune into the simple things or just do one thing at a time.

Each week throughout October we’re sharing a team activity and an individual activity for you to try. This week’s activities are:

Week 4: Team activity – Draw what you see, hear, taste, touch and smell

We challenging you to take 3-5 minutes to draw what you can see, hear, smell, taste and touch, and then share it with the group or team you’re doing this activity with. This is an activity that encourages you to be present and is more about the personal experience rather than artistic talent – don’t worry, you don’t need to be the next Pablo Picasso.

Week 4: Individual activity – Practice mindfulness for better mental health

We also have another individual activity to share. Encourage your teams to read this handy pocket guide to discover how mindfulness can benefit our mental wellbeing. And don’t forget anyone can book a place on our two final Mental Health Month workshops – find out more here.
