On 25 April, your employee-led network for Disabilities and Health Conditions, m’power, will be sponsoring an Atrium event called ‘Think Different’ to raise awareness of hidden disabilities, with a focus on Neurodiversity.
The workplace can be challenging for people who have neurodifferences and the working world tends to support neurotypical people by default. We want to do all we can to change that, and help our neurodiverse colleagues bring their best selves to work.
What’s on?
Join us for a Q&A with a fantastic guest speaker, visit one of our sensory rooms to learn more about what it’s like to have neurodifferences, and meet members of the m’power network:10:00 – 11:00 and 12:00 – 13:00 (Montevideo room, ground floor) – Come and experience what sensory issues feel like, and learn more about stimming and shutdowns.
10:00 – 11:00 and 12:00 – 13:00 (Newcastle room, ground floor) – Come along for an interview with one of our Carnival UK colleagues who has been hired through our partnership with Ambitious about Autism. Learn insights and feedback around the experience of applying for a job via Ambitious for Autism, how the process felt and what it’s like to work at Carnival UK.
11:00 – 12:00 (Atrium) – Join our fantastic guest speaker, Toni Horn, neurodiversity consultant, for a Q&A.
Each of our sensory rooms will be manned by team members who have been part of the Ambitious about Autism pilot and each person can share the experience that they have had to date.
