Over two years ago we closed the doors to Carnival House and retreated to our homes as the pandemic took force. Today marks the start of a new chapter where we’ll start working from Carnival House again for a minimum of two days* a week.
Our top 5 tips for making the most of your time in the office
1. Make sure you have everything you need
Use this checklist to help get prepared in advance.
2. Book a space suitable for what you need to do
Desks and meeting spaces must be booked via Condeco.
3. Get set up properly
Save this page to your desktop, or load it on your mobile so you know how to set up your desk correctly (and get connected to the internet) when you arrive
4. Add the office working FAQs to your favourites
The one-stop shop for access to the Carnival House Wi-Fi password, as well as everything else you need to know about working from the office.
5. Have fun!
Make time to collaborate and catch up with colleagues. It’s been a while since we’ve had this opportunity, so enjoy the moment!
Events happening at Carnival House this week
To celebrate the great opportunity to be able to collaborate face to face with colleagues once again, we’ll be hosting a series of events and activities throughout the week:
Tuesday, Wednesday & Thursday (26-28 April) – Find out more about our employee-led DEI networks: Join Athena, Spectrum and m’power in the Atrium 10:00-15:00 for refreshments, promotional goodies and to learn more what the networks do and how you can get involved.
Thursday 28 April – Move more and make the most of your desk breaks: Pop down to the Atrium 10:00-14:00 for the launch of our next #GoodDayAtCUK focus, ‘Move more, feel better’. The Quays Leisure Centre have an exclusive CUK membership offer, plus there’s prizes for the most step-count, and at the workstation set-up challenge. Find out more here.
Thursday 28 April – Join guest speaker; multi award-winning ultra-athlete, Ben Smith: From 12:30-13:30, Ben will be sharing the very personal story of how he endured years of bullying, struggles with self acceptance and active suicidal intention, and a TIA (incomplete stroke) in adulthood, to running 401 marathons in 401 days and setting up the 401 Foundation to support mental health. Colleagues at home can join via this Teams Live Event link, and everyone can ask Ben questions via this link.
