From today Carnival House is back open for up to 550 colleagues per day across all departments. We’re asking everyone to start regularly working some of the time from the office and some of the time remotely – i.e.: in a hybrid way – to help further test and embed our future ways of working.
While establishing a hybrid working pattern, that works best for you and what we need to deliver as a business this year, may require a bit of time, trial and error, if you’re not sure where to start make sure you speak with your line manager.
You’ll also find colleagues stories on The Insider, like this one from Brodie McIntosh and this one from Ross Bridger, on how they’ve been making hybrid working work for them.
Bookings for desks and meeting spaces are open via Condeco and can be booked four weeks in advance to help you plan your time.
Your first day cheat sheet
So you can focus on making the most of your first day back in the office we’ve created a day one checklist which we encourage you to refer to before you arrive at Carnival House. We’ve also summarised some of the quick links you may need for your first few days and weeks back.
- Connect to a dock and/or monitor
- Join Carnival House’s WiFi
- Achieve the perfect workstation set up
- Notify Facilities of a cleaning request in the building
- Report Covid-19 symptoms
- Report a building fault
- Book an appointment at the Tech Bar
- Raise an IT Incident
You’ll find all the latest office working guidance on our office working pages.
Your feedback matters
To further guide our future ways of working longer term, we’ll be sharing a short survey with you all on 31 January asking you to anonymously share your experiences of hybrid working. We’ll then use the results from the survey to help inform our thinking so that we’re able to provide clarity on what our ways of working need to look like for all current, and future colleagues.
Until then we encourage you to share your feedback here or via your Employee Experience Group reps.
Share your top tips
“Plan your day in the office in advance so you can make the most of collaborating with colleagues and interacting face to face.” – Gemma Jones, People team
“For the best video/audio experience at Carnival House join your virtual meetings from your desk or a meeting space rather than the atrium or a balcony. The sound quality will be much better for you and others on the call, plus performance of the network will be stronger in desk and meeting areas.” – Adrian Scott, IT
“Don’t forget all single use cups have been removed from the office including in the vending machines. Make sure you bring in a refillable bottle or reusable cup so you can stay hydrated throughout the day.” – Ian Pierce, People team
