This week we’ve been encouraging colleagues at Carnival UK to join the inclusion conversation through a series of daily challenges to support National Inclusion Week’s theme of Each One, Reach One.

If you’ve missed them so far, click on these links for Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday.

THURSDAY: Inspire inclusion in your community

Since March most of us have been working from home, while our fleet colleagues are living on ships without a single Guest on board. During the past few months, family, friends and neighbours have become more important than ever as community spirit has strengthened, both on our streets and on our ships.

As we’re out of the office for National Inclusion Week, this year we have the opportunity to influence inclusion at home.

Thursday’s challenge is to inspire inclusion among your friends, family and neighbours.

  • Take a look at the Inclusive Employers’ Diversity Calendar so you can celebrate multi-cultural events with your neighbours.
  • Recommend one of the resources we’ve shared to your friends and family – if it’s a video or TV programme, watch it together and share your thoughts with each other.
  • Check in on a neighbour to help them feel included in the community.
  • Gift a book that focuses on an inclusion topic. Ask the receiver to ‘pay it forward’ and support Each One, Reach One. (Filter for ‘books’ in these resources to find a recommended read.)
  • Support inquisitive younger minds with these age-specific free diversity and inclusion resources from twinkl
