All this week we’re supporting National Inclusion Week’s theme of Each One, Reach One by encouraging colleagues to join the inclusion conversation through a series of daily challenges.
Following on from Monday and Tuesday’s challenges, here is today’s!
WEDNESDAY: Add Inclusion to your agenda
National Inclusion Week may have you focused on inclusion this week, but it’s important to work on making everyday inclusion a reality all year round. This doesn’t have to be through big gestures – even the smallest thing can have a positive impact on someone and make a real difference.
Wednesday’s challenge is to make inclusion a regular agenda item in your team meetings.
- Ask your team ‘how do you think we could improve Inclusion in our business?’ (or narrow it down, ‘how do we improve inclusion in our meetings?’)
- Work together to list some characteristics (eg. gender, sexuality etc.). What are some of the barriers that these groups might face? How can people adapt to make everyone feel welcome?
- Ask colleagues to list three experiences in their lives that have shaped who they are and then talk about them as a group.
- Ask a colleague from a different country to you to tell you a bit about what’s happening in the news where they are from.
