Crew aboard Britannia came together to celebrate Philippines Independence Day with an evening filled with food, music and cultural pride.
Philippines Independence Day, celebrated each year on 12 June, commemorates the country’s declaration of independence in 1898. Across the Philippines and in Filipino communities around the world, the day is marked with cultural events, music, traditional food and community celebrations that honour the nation’s history, heritage and identity.

The celebrations onboard Britannia began with a special themed dinner featuring traditional Filipino dishes, giving crew members the opportunity to enjoy and share the rich flavours of the Philippines. The event provided a welcoming atmosphere for colleagues from across the ship to come together and mark the occasion.
Following dinner, members of the Filipino community showcased their talents with a live band performance. The energetic set brought people together to sing along, dance and celebrate, creating a vibrant atmosphere throughout the evening.

The celebrations continued with a lively disco, where crew from different departments joined the dance floor and enjoyed an evening of fun and connection. The event was a wonderful opportunity to recognise the contribution of Britannia’s Filipino colleagues while celebrating the diversity that makes life onboard so special.
The evening highlighted the strong sense of community onboard, bringing colleagues together to learn more about Filipino culture and celebrate an important national occasion.
