The countdown is on!
Communities is a place for shoreside colleagues from across Carnival UK to come together online, join groups of interest, and connect with others.
Communities sits on Viva Engage, and includes a number of official community groups that you’ll automatically be a part of when we launch, including our ‘CUK – All colleagues’ group and department groups too.
You’ll also find groups for our Employee-led Networks and Carnival House Social Clubs, that you can join based on your own interests.
Communities will be launching alongside Compass next week, so let’s take a closer look at what you can expect from this new platform:

- Join groups – There’s something for everyone on Communities, with groups for each of our Employee Led Networks, everyone at Carnival UK, hobbies and social clubs, and more!
- Stay up to date – Keep up with what’s happening across Carnival UK via the homefeed, where all the latest posts and activity from within the groups you’ve joined and from the people you follow, will appear, so you don’t miss out.
- Share knowledge and ask the experts – Ask and respond to questions in your groups to share knowledge with other members. If you don’t know the answer, then @mention someone who might.
- Join in the conversation! Post, comment, like and share!
Which channel, when?
Communities will be launching alongside Compass, our new shoreside intranet built on SharePoint. Although Compass will replace The Insider, Communities is a brand-new tool for us all to get to know. We’ve created this quick guide to help you understand which channel to use, when.
How will I access Communities?
Once we’ve launched there’s lots of ways to get online. You’ll be able to access Communities by clicking the ‘Viva Engage’ icon in the toolbar on the left-hand side of your Teams window. You can also access it on-the-go, via the Teams mobile app (just tap ‘more…’ and select ‘Viva Engage’ from the list of icons) or you can download the Viva Engage app from the Appstore. Just log-in using your usual office365 credentials and your authenticator app.
