It’s time to kick off the Annual Performance Review cycle and whilst performance reviews themselves are nothing new within Corporate Shipbuilding, there are some changes this year that we want to highlight.

As we align ourselves with the rest of the Corporation and a more simplified process, the form will look and feel a little different from previous years. In particular, you will notice the following:

  • Team members no longer need to review each goal, instead a review of their overall performance for the year is all that is required.
  • Team members will no longer self-rate their performance, their manager will provide a rating based on their own evaluation.

We strongly recommend that you familiarise yourself with the updated guides which can be found below – please select the drop down that relates to you:

Three-Point Scale

Please be reminded that this is the first year that we will be using the three-point scale, again aligning ourselves with the rest of the Corporation, below are the ratings’ descriptors:

  • Exceptional – significantly exceeds performance expectations with broad impact. Drives exceptional results and models the right behaviours.
  • Successful – achieves performance expectations consistently. Accomplishes the right results with the right behaviours. A reliable contributor to the team and brand.
  • Needs Improvement – does not achieve performance and/or culture expectations. Has areas for improvement in how they perform their role.

This year we will focus on the following three key areas for feedback:

  1. Performance: What you have achieved
  2. Culture: How you achieved it
  3. Additional Feedback: An opportunity for both you and your manager to speak up on what is working, identify areas for improvement, address any obstacles, and for both to listen and learn.

The review forms are now live in myHR Portal and ready for you to begin. Simply log in to myHR Portal and follow the steps outlined in the guide found here. We ask your self-review is completed by no later than 18 October 2024.

Once you have completed your self-review, your manager will arrange to meet with you to discuss your performance and achievements from this year.
