Back in March 2023 we launched our first shoreside Leadership and Management Essentials programme with the aim to support our managers and people managers at Carnival UK (levels 07-10) to develop their knowledge, skills and confidence as Leaders.
To date 32% of shoreside leaders have completed all sessions, and another 51% have started the programme.
In a recent impact survey, 100% of participants who answered, said the programme has had a positive impact on their knowledge and confidence as a leader.
Why is a consistent approach important?
We know our experience with leaders directly impacts how we feel about working at Carnival UK. We want to enable our people to be the best they can be and receiving a positive and consistent management experience is key to this.
Focus on our fleet
With the shoreside roll out of Leaderships and Management Essentials going well, this year the learning team, with support from learning and development officers, have been working hard to start the roll-out of the programme to the fleet.
Launched earlier this year, Leadership and Management Essentials Level One, which was created to support 1 stripe officers and non-officer managers has recently been completed by our first 10 colleagues on board Queen Victoria.

Completion of the training is mandatory for all eligible colleagues. If you’re a shoreside colleague and you’re yet to complete all your sessions, book onto any of the upcoming sessions via The Cove before the end of this year.
