2023 saw over 300 of you attend our Power Hours, so for 2024 we’re bringing back some of the most popular topics and introducing brand-new sessions based on your feedback.

These bitesize sessions are aimed at enhancing key skills and will give you plenty of tips and tricks to come away with and start trying right after the session. And the best part – each session is only 60 minutes long so can fit in with the busiest of schedules.

The learning doesn’t stop after the session. You’ll build connections with other colleagues around the business, so you can continue your conversations and keep building on your skills.

Here’s a taster of some of our brand-new topics:

Many jobs require us to give presentations or speak in front of a crowd, and for a lot of us, this can fill us with anxiety and dread! In this Power Hour, we’ll explore ways that you can prepare your presentation and structure this for the right audience so you can feel confident in your delivery.

In today’s digital world, we often find that we are bombarded with large volumes of information, so our ability to weigh up evidence and evaluate information is more important than ever. But how can we lean into critical thinking when required? In just 60 mins, we’ll share tips and tools for you to take away to ensure that we can make the right decisions based on facts and evidence.

Having strong connections and feeling part of a community can help us to build trust and provides a solid foundation for a group to work together towards shared goals. Forming these relationships doesn’t just happen overnight; it takes time and intentional effort to get there. In this bitesize session, we’ll provide you with top tips for connecting with others and collaborating effectively so that we can achieve our goals, together.

Often, the most challenging conversations are the ones that are most important for us to have. By broaching complex and sensitive topics with those around us, we can become more open to see the world through the eyes of others, and build better relationships. Join us in this session where we’ll explore ways for you to lean-in to the discomfort and find the opportunity to grow.

As managers and leaders, you play a critical role in how we lead by example, which aids us in achieving success with our goals.

This year, we have tailored and redesigned our Leaders Exchange sessions to support you to build skills and behaviours that align to our collective goals. In these sessions, you’ll have the opportunity to collaborate with other leaders across the business and work through challenges together in just 60 minutes. You’ll be able to work through solutions with other experienced managers and come away with plenty of hacks to try out.

New topics for this year include:

Think of strategic thinking like playing chess: before you make your move, you’re considering the moves your opponent may make, how you’ll respond and then you choose your action based on what will set you up for your future moves. During this session, we’ll explore why this is a key skill for leaders, and how we can dial this up to ensure both personal and business success.

The saying goes ‘if you can’t say anything nice, then don’t say anything at all’ however, as a manager or leader we often find ourselves in situations where this advice isn’t applicable. Find out how you can strike the right balance between being both clear yet kind when providing feedback in order to get the best out of your team.

Creating psychological safety within teams is your responsibility as a manger, and can aid in fostering a supportive and inclusive workplace. When our people feel this, they are able to bring their full and authentic selves to work. Find out why it’s important to lead with vulnerability and how you can start to create this environment for your own team in this actionable session.

When you look around our organisation and in our everyday lives, we have access to so many views and ideas that we can utilise. As a leader, you have a great opportunity to create a culture with an emphasis on diversity of thought, but how can you get there? In just 60 minutes, you’ll learn more about the benefits of gaining alternative views and gain tips on how you can achieve new ways of thinking.

All these sessions and more are available to book on The Cove now.
