December has a tendency to creep up on a lot of us which is why we’ve put together a quick guide to the end of the year – wrapping up all the dates yule need to know…
Although the Christmas trees in Carnival House will soon be up there's no stopping you from bringing some festive cheer to the office. All we ask, with the current cleaning protocols in place, is that you keep desks, team cupboards and other surface tops clear. This is so our awesome cleaners can do their job. You can use floor standing decorations but just make sure you don't block walkways and of course, there's always the opportunity to wear a Christmas jumper! For additional guidance, or if you plan on using lights that are yet to be PAT tested (PAT testing must be completed before you use them) please complete the Facilities Fault form on The Insider.
To keep up to date with all the events happening across Carnival House check out our page here.

Thursday 8 December
Although not everyone will see them you can still join in the festive spirit by donning your favourite, fluffy, Fair Isle prints. The more festive the better! And if you want to donate to Save The Children's campaign you can do so here.
This year, we've increased the festive celebration allowance that each person is entitled to so that teams can celebrate in a more flexible and meaningful way that creates better value for money. We therefore won’t be offering lunches at Carnival House or gifts. The details of this will be shared by your SLT member or line manager.
You'll also be invited to join us at a small celebration in the Atrium on 15 December.
It’s really important we all prioritise our wellbeing, and taking time out from the day-to-day is a great way to do just that.
With this in mind, our ELT are pleased to share that as a small token of their appreciation for all of your hard work this year, shoreside colleagues will be gifted an extra day’s annual leave for you to take between 19 December 2022 and 6 January 2023.
As ever, there are certain conditions so please take a look at the quick reference guide and instructions here to find out more about what this means for you.
During the Christmas period some of us may give or receive gifts from our vendors or business partners. Click here for a reminder of our responsibility to Respect and Protect ourselves and our company.
To set ourselves up for success, we need you to start thinking about your goals for the year ahead, talk openly with your manager about development needs and your aspirations, to be the best you can be in 2023. Our goal setting window is open from 6 December - 15 January.
We recognise the importance of promoting a positive work-life balance and so in addition to annual leave entitlement, once a year, we offer all colleagues the chance to buy up to five additional days, or sell up to two days, annual leave. You’ll receive communication each year to make you aware of the holiday trading window – this is usually in March.
Salcombe has very kindly given us an exclusive discount code for our colleagues over the Christmas period. You can get 20% off with a free Salcombe Gin Miniature if ordering before 19 December. Find out more here.
