Talking therapies are also essential to supporting our mental wellbeing. Sometimes it can be helpful to talk through a situation or conflict with someone who is completely neutral, doesn’t know any of the parties involved, can just offer a listening ear and perhaps some gentle advice.
There are a lot of options available so it can sometimes feel difficult to know where to start. The aim of this blog is to give a brief overview of some of the more common options that may be available to you. Some you can access directly, and some you may need to be referred by your GP or local healthcare provider. Other options are available to address specific mental illnesses; what is included below is designed to be a general overview. If you still feel unsure, get in touch with the Mental Health First Aiders to have a chat and we can be the initial listening ear, before signposting you on if you feel that would be helpful.
