You may be wondering what’s happening with our journey to bring you Microsoft Office 365 (O365), so we thought we’d give you update…
Our project team has been working hard in the background to set the scene before we rollout Microsoft Office to you. We’re currently setting up everything we need to upgrade you to O365.
What’s been happening so far?
Our business change team has been working with our Change Champions to understand the potential impacts of O365. Having looked at those impacts we’re happy to share that the O365 packages you’ll receive have been carefully designed to suit the needs of our different groups of people across the business and keep any changes to business as usual to a minimum.
Don’t worry though – when it’s your turn to receive the upgrade we’ll provide guidance to take you from our long serving Lotus Notes to the new applications you’ll receive. These guides will be shared with you as soon as it’s your turn to migrate to Microsoft Office 365.
How will O365 be rolled out?
First we’re giving access to our pilot group (select few shore-based employees and change champions) during August and September. After that, we plan to deploy it to one of our ships in the following week. Once we have the feedback and experience from these colleagues, we’ll start to roll it out to the rest of our business – it’s not too much further in the future now!
As mentioned above, we’ve created Office packages for different groups to suit individual needs. We’ll let you know nearer the time about what you’ll receive. We’ll also let you know what you’ll need to do to make sure there’s a smooth transition, so please be on the lookout for the communications from the project team.
What’s next?
We’re in the process of finalising the training materials. This week, we’re training our Change Champions on various Office topics. These training sessions will be recorded and uploaded on the Insider for future reference.
Our pilot group will also receive communications from the project team with more detail about the upgrade to O365.
