While being able to return to service is hugely exciting and positive news for us, we understand that heightened workload, navigating change and working against tight timescales can all contribute to feeling under pressure.

To support you, this April we’re backing Stress Awareness Month which has been recognised by the Stress Management Society (SMS) since 1992 to increase public awareness about both the causes and cures for stress.

One of the activities that we’re getting behind is their 30 day challenge – a challenge which encourages you to improve how you mange stress by to picking one action a day throughout the month of April for your physical, mental and emotional wellbeing.

It takes 30 days to turn an action into a habit, so the 30 day challenge will maximise your chances of turning useful knowledge and techniques into a positive behavioural change.

An example might be:

  • Physical – Take a short walk and enjoy some fresh air
  • Emotional – Connect with people. If you’re away from loved ones, give them a call.
  • Mental – Keep a thought journal to help rationalise how you are feeling

Take part

To take part throughout April, download and fill in SMS’s 30 day challenge calendar. The calendar will also be available after April so you can continue using the calendar or start the challenge a little later.

Fleet colleagues – pick up a printed copy of the calendar at your stress awareness event on board. Speak with your HR Manager for details.

Visit the Stress Management Society website for more details on Stress Awareness Month, as well as hints and top tips.
