Following the latest UK Government announcement earlier this month, we’re not in a place to be reopening Carnival House at the end of January like we’d originally planned. However, we are continuing to push ahead behind the scenes to ensure the office is Covid secure and ready for use by larger numbers as soon as the Public Health landscape allows. 

One of the main tools that will help us revolutionise the way we use Carnival House in the future is the introduction of a desk booking app.

Powered by Condeco, the global leader in workspace scheduling technology, the app we’ll be introducing at Carnival UK will help you to;
  • Plan where to work from in advance
  • Visibly communicate your status i.e. working from home, working from desk D1 – D125, not working.
  • Book a desk for the days you wish to work from Carnival House
  • Release a desk if it’s no longer required
  • Search for colleagues and where they’re sat in Carnival House
  • Find and book a desk near to a colleague or team within your neighbourhood
  • View and edit all personal desk bookings

The app will also have the capability to book meeting rooms and collaborative spaces, although this won’t be available straight away.

This functionality will be added to the app when we’re able increase occupancy at Carnival House and therefore re-introduce the use of these spaces.

Make changes to your status and release bookings you no longer need

The introduction of the app, which will be available for both mobile and desktop use, will help us transition to using Carnival House as a hub rather than a 9:00-17:00 base. It also has an important role to play in keeping everyone safe and well. 

In addition to the measures in place to make Carnival House Covid-19 secure, the app will;
  • Manage daily capacity – e.g. maximum 550 bookings per day, ensuring no overcrowding at Carnival House
  • Manage location of available desks i.e. available desks will always be two metres apart
  • Notify our cleaning contractors that a desk requires post use cleaning before being used again. Our cleaners will then notify the app once this has been completed so that the desk is displayed as ready to use on the app.
  • Check health status of desk bookers by requesting mandatory self certification i.e. Are you fit and well? Yes or No. Are you experiencing any symptoms of Covid-19? Yes or No.
  • Let you know if you shouldn’t travel to Carnival House whether that be due to a reduction in numbers allowed in the building or sickness / Covid-19 track and trace response.
