As we adapt to a new temporary way of living, uniting together has never been more important. That’s exactly why Peter Symonds, Inaugural Event Logistics (P&O Cruises), created #World5k, which takes place this Saturday.
What’s #World5k?
#World5k is a global movement to get as many people as possible to run or walk 5k in a day.
Taking place in the comfort of your own home or from your cabin, you’re invited to join Peter and people around the world for a 5k fun-run on Saturday 18 April.
You could run laps, jog on the spot, or simply step up and down in your room. As long as you take part a safe space, observe social distancing, go at your own pace and don’t put yourself at risk, it’s completely up to you how you do it!
Peter says:
“I live in a flat so I know how restrictive being stuck indoors 24/7 can be.
I kept hearing stories about people exercising at home and running marathons on their balconies and in their gardens. It inspired me to create an event with the community in mind that everyone could join in and do something good for their mental health.
You really can do it anywhere – because I live in a flat I’m going to do my 5k by bouncing on a mini-trampoline!”
