As heroes of safe and well, the health and wellbeing of our people remains our number one priority. The correct set up of home workstation Display Screen Equipment (DSE) is vitally important as we want everyone to stay fit and well at work. As such, all colleagues are required to read this DSE guidance published which promotes best practice for home workstation set up.
In line with Health and Safety (Display Screen Equipment) Regulations, everyone must complete and submit an online assessment checklist to:
- Confirm that they have read and followed the DSE guidance on The Insider
- Help us to risk assess all colleagues and identify those that need immediate support.
ALL colleagues must therefore read and follow the DSE guidance, and submit the checklist by 5pm, Thursday 9 April.
After completion of this checklist, if in the future you experience any changes to your comfort and physical health, please report it to your line manager, in the first instance. They will ensure that you have followed the DSE guidance correctly and allow you to discuss alternative ways of working which may be beneficial to your individual circumstances such as alternating between sitting and standing, flexing hours to take an extended break during the day etc.
If your discomfort continues, your manager can report any workstation issues to the Facilities team or complete a referral form and submit to the Occupational Health team. Should there be a high demand for DSE support, requests will be processed in order of medical priority.
