Thanks to everyone that bought tickets to help raise a total of £1,125.79 for Southampton City Farm.

You may have seen our Carnival House charity partner Oasis Down to Earth Farm (soon to be Southampton City Farm) in the office last week. On Friday 27 September £1,125.79 was raised for the charity at a raffle which coincided with a visit from the charity.

The raffle was extremely well-supported by colleagues from across the company who were itching to be in with a chance of winning some amazing prizes and supporting this wonderful local charity. The raffle wouldn’t have been possible without Dave Varty, VP Asset Management, who donated the three prizes: chocolate goodies, a wonderful insect hotel and a beautiful bird table – the latter two were handcrafted by Dave himself, made from recycled teak decking from Oriana, after travelling 2,650,222 nautical miles!

Here are the winners:

1st prize, Bird Table – Alexander Preston (above)

2nd prize, Bug Hotel – James Tyrrell

3rd prize, Chocolates – Chris Saleh (contractor)

Dave (left, with Donnacha O’Driscoll) has earned himself a reputation for his charity work and artistic woodwork talents and has recently been awarded the runner up Q3 Value Award. A big thank you to Dave and all those who supported the raffle.

Oasis Down To Earth Farm is non-profit charity based in an urban farm in the middle of Southampton that provides inclusive experiences for people of all ages, abilities and differences. A number of colleagues from Carnival House have visited the farm to volunteer, including the Technology Team.

Between now and the end of October, 10 teams will be heading down to the farm to volunteer.
