From exploring world-famous landmarks and breathtaking Norwegian scenery to celebrating cultural traditions and helping new joiners settle in, it’s been a busy time for colleagues onboard Arvia.

Supporting crew wellbeing, encouraging connections across departments and creating opportunities to experience new places and cultures remain a key focus onboard, with Crew Welfare Officer, Ana, leading a packed programme of activities both ashore and at sea.

One highlight saw 30 crew members visit Barcelona’s iconic Sagrada Familia, thanks to sponsorship from Stella Maris. For many, it was their first chance to travel on the city’s metro and experience local life beyond the port. Crew explored the famous basilica, visited the museum, learnt about its history and architecture, and enjoyed the opportunity to discover one of Spain’s most celebrated landmarks.

In Alicante, crew members joined a free visit to Santa Bárbara Castle, giving colleagues the opportunity to enjoy time ashore together, take in spectacular views and connect with people from different departments. The success of the trip even inspired others to visit independently during future calls.

Meanwhile, Arvia’s Norway itinerary provided plenty of opportunities to enjoy the outdoors. Crew members took part in organised hikes to waterfalls and viewpoints in Olden and Skjolden, while a special glacier excursion, organised with Shore Experience, gave colleagues the chance to experience some of Norway’s most stunning scenery. For many, it was their first visit to the country, making the experience even more memorable.

Back onboard, Arvia has also introduced New to Sea Gatherings, helping colleagues build friendships and settle into life at sea during their first few weeks onboard. Through games, snacks and informal catch-ups, new joiners have been able to share experiences, meet colleagues from across the ship and feel more at home in their new environment.

3000Celebrating the diversity of Arvia’s crew community has also been a focus, with colleagues coming together for Onam and Ganesh Chaturthi celebrations. Supported by the Food & Beverage team, SMT, Ops team and crew volunteers, the events featured traditional food, prayers, hymns and cultural activities, creating opportunities to learn about, share and celebrate different traditions.

Whether exploring new destinations, experiencing different cultures or building friendships onboard, these activities continue to bring colleagues together, creating memorable experiences and helping to support wellbeing across the ship.
