Life at sea brings together people from different backgrounds, cultures and experiences, and recently our crew on Azura enjoyed two fantastic events that celebrated exactly that.

Our crew came together to celebrate Onam, a vibrant harvest festival from Kerala, India. For many, Onam is a special time filled with family traditions, delicious food and the joy of being together. While being away from home during important celebrations can be difficult, our crew created an opportunity to share a little piece of home on board.

The celebration was filled with great food, happy faces and a wonderful sense of togetherness. It was a chance to connect with colleagues, celebrate cultural traditions and enjoy the feeling of belonging that makes life on board so special.

The spirit of teamwork continued when crew members swapped their uniforms for cricket bats and took part in a friendly cricket match. The energy was fantastic, with plenty of cheering, exciting moments and healthy competition throughout the game.

It was also wonderful to see guests stopping by to watch the match and support our players, giving crew the chance to showcase their enthusiasm, sporting spirit and teamwork.

Whether sharing cultural traditions or enjoying a game together, these moments remind us that home is not always a place. Sometimes, it’s the people around us who create that feeling of connection, support and community.

A huge thank you to everyone who helped make both events such a success and for continuing to make Azura a place where colleagues can celebrate, connect and create lasting memories together.
