Crew members on both Aurora and Britannia recently celebrated Galungan, one of the most important festivals in Balinese culture.
On Aurora, Indonesian crew members marked the occasion with a traditional ceremony held in the Alexandria Restaurant. The celebration included ceremonial offerings and cultural performances, giving crew the opportunity to reflect on the meaning of Galungan while sharing their traditions with colleagues. The event brought people together in a warm and respectful atmosphere, with crew from across the ship joining in support of their Indonesian colleagues.
On Britannia, crew members celebrated Galungan through traditional Balinese dress, cultural displays and music. The event offered an opportunity to learn more about the festival and its significance in Balinese culture. Crew from a range of departments attended, creating a welcoming atmosphere and showing their appreciation for the traditions being shared.
Galungan celebrates the victory of good over evil and is an important time for Balinese people to give thanks, reflect and strengthen connections with their community. Across both ships, the celebrations highlighted the rich cultural diversity of our crew and the important role it plays in creating an inclusive and supportive onboard community.
