Seabourn was proud to sponsor Tennis legend and former BBC sports presenter Sue Barker OBE as a headline speaker at a recent Travel Weekly ‘Inspiring Women in Travel’ lunch hosted by Travel Weekly Editor Lucy Huxley and held at the Soho Hotel in London on Friday 25th October.
Sue spoke eloquently and candidly about the highs and lows of her career in top tier tennis, her 30-year broadcasting career with the BBC and of course the hugely successful TV quiz show … ‘A Question of Sport’.
Seabourn’s VP & EMEA Lynn Narraway introduced Sue to the audience and explain her connection with Seabourn. Sue will be sailing on Seabourn Venture’s 8-day tennis themed ‘Mediterranean Marvels and Matches’ cruise departing 5th April 2025, which includes premium tickets to the Monte Carlo Masters tennis tournament. During a series of enriching ‘Seabourn Conversations’ Sue will share her fascinating stories with Seabourn guests.
The Inspiring Women in Travel event was also attended by Cunard’s President Katie McAlister and Seabourn’s Senior Marketing Manager Carly Perkins. Sue is also due to sail with Cunard for the first time as part of the Cunard Insights programme in May 2025, treating guests on Queen Victoria to tales of her impressive life and career.
Sue will be embarking upon an 11-venue ‘A Question of …’ live tour in March 2025 along with TV colleagues Phil Tufnell and Matt Dawson featuring the best bits from the original TV series, including quizzes, challenges, and the chance for audience members to test their sporting knowledge. The show will be at Bournemouth’s BIC on 7th March 2025.
