This October the Occupational Health and Wellbeing team will be focusing on mental health, with lots on for you to get involved with to help improve your own mental health and wellbeing. Sometimes we all need a little extra support, and though we recognise Mental Health every year, it’s important to remember that we should be encouraging open conversations about mental health and looking out for each other, all year round.

Baby Loss Awareness Week – We’ll be holding a drop-in session for anyone affected by baby loss on 9 October, 12:00 – 13:00 in Tranquil Tides, floor 2.
Meet Ben, the golden retriever! We have an exciting 4-legged visitor coming to Carnival House on 10 October! Pets As Therapy is a national charity that enhances the health and wellbeing of thousands of people in communities across the UK. They bring temperament assessed pets to the workplace to bring smiles and a sense of calm.
If you’d like to meet Ben, the gorgeous golden retriever and learn more about Pets as Therapy, we have limited slots available. Register your interest by emailing: OHS@carnivalukgroup.com. We’ll let you know your timeslot if you are successful! (Don’t worry, Ben will be meeting people in a private room so if you have allergies or don’t like dogs, we have you covered.)
Take part in a free meditation workshop on 15 October at 15:00-16:00 in Las Palmas Room. Meditation doesn’t need to take hours out of your day, if anything it helps save you time as you start to feel happier, less stressed and more focused. In this workshop Sarina Mann from Kadampa Meditation Centre will teach simple and practical techniques you can use in your busy daily life to be optimise your mental wellbeing. This is a great opportunity to overcome challenges we can all face such as stress to ensuring you’ve got a toolkit you can use in any situation. No need to book. First come first served. MHFAs: At Carnival UK, our Mental Health First Aiders and Champions are colleagues who’ve volunteered their time to take on the role of listening and signposting people to support when they need it. They are committed to raising awareness, reducing stigma and discrimination, and engaging our people in positive mental wellbeing.
Health Hero: As a shoreside colleague at Carnival UK, you and your immediate family have free and confidential access, 24 hours a day, seven days a week, to Health Hero, your Employee Assistance Programme (EAP). Find out more.
Tranquil Tides: Take some time out in Tranquil Tides, our wellbeing space. A calm, quiet corner of Carnival House for you to reflect, take a moment, and disconnect from your day. You’ll find it on Floor 2, at the front of the building (looking out at the Quays Leisure Centre).
