First of all thank you to everyone who took the time to nominate a colleague for the recent round of CCS Star Awards for 2024, we had a total of 13 nominations, with some people receiving two nominations.

It’s great to see so many of you recognising others who are living and breathing our Culture Essentials as well as embracing our new ways of working. It was a tough decision to make but as we announced at the recent town hall, our winners are:

Jake Fleetwood, Senior Analyst within the Naval Architecture & Outfitting (NAO) Chapter for Improve. Jake received two nominations, here’s what they had to say:

“In general Jake is always so approachable and shows a huge amount of willingness. Jake has been incredible in supporting with his excel skills. He has taken time to learn our ways of working, Listen to the output needed and adapted our logic to make an excellent excel tracker, This is making our ways of working so much more efficent. He has also been fully engaged in making improvements and has been very supportive in new ideas…. With a big smile on his face. A huge thank you Jake!!”

And his second nominator said:

“Jake has gone above and beyond supporting Toni in producing a tool to support Toni’s plan activities, which will ultimately provide greater visibility into the status of our drawings. He’s been able to do this alongside his ‘day job’. Thank you Jake!”

Toni Myers, PMO Planning Manager within the Strategy & Business Services Team for Improve. Toni also received two nominations, here’s what they had to say:

“Toni was simply asked to try and reduce the drawing list for 724. There was no fixed target to achieve or a strategy on how to do this. Toni has worked tirelessly with stakeholders to achieve a 27% reduction, but in such a way to ensure there is still due diligence on what is being agreed with the shipyard. There are also no expected due dates for all drawings, allowing us to more fully forecast the pipeline for plan approval and continuously drive improvements with the yards if these dates are not adhered to. Toni has worked tirelessly to find improvements in many areas to achieve this reduction, as well as enhancements to our ways of working.”

And her second nominator said:

“Toni has worked with various SMEs within CCS to consolidated/package the drawings from Meyer to enable efficiencies. Whilst it is was a team effort that delivered this outcome, Toni’s experience, drive and knowledge made it happen.”

And in true Oscar style, the other nominees were:
