Coordinated by Maritime UK Solent, the annual awards ceremony celebrates the region’s outstanding maritime sector and the people who drive it to be a world-leading regional industry.
For 2024 Carnival UK were shortlisted in three of the 12 categories – Net Zero Navigator, Diversity Champion and Cadet/Apprentice of the Year (Thomas Welch) – which is a huge achievement in itself and testament to everyone at Carnival UK.
On the night we were thrilled to take top spot for Diversity Champion, recognising our focus on inclusive recruitment and colleague experience, both ship and shore.
Rosy Elstone, Culture Director said;
“We’re delighted to be recognised by Maritime UK Solent and industry peers with the Diversity Champion Award. What’s great about the maritime industry is that there’s no competition when it comes to DEI; we’re all focused on the same inclusive ambitions, collaborating to promote maritime careers to underrepresented groups in Southampton and across the globe.
“We know there’s still a lot of work to do, but this award recognises the efforts put in by multiple teams across Carnival UK to make our company and the maritime industry more progressive.”
