This week, as Queen Mary 2 makes her way eastbound across the Atlantic, guests will be immersed in the exquisite world of classical music on the 15th anniversary of Cunard’s Event Voyage with Anthony Inglis and the UK’s National Symphony Orchestra.

Eminent maestro Anthony will conduct the NSO through two superb performances in the Royal Court Theatre, as well as a stunning rendition of Ravel’s masterpiece Bolero during a special matinee on the last day of the voyage. The sailing will begin with a concert of all-American music, including Gershwin’s evergreen Rhapsody in Blue. Later in the voyage, guests can celebrate the Best of British with a special evening filled with passion, colour, and entertainment.
Away from the stage, guests are invited to listen in as Anthony talks candidly about his career, and maybe ask him a question or two. They’ll also have another opportunity to get closer to Anthony when he hosts a book signing in the Grand Lobby.
A chance to rehearse with the choir is another voyage highlight, offering guests the opportunity to put their own vocal strengths to the test with the best, and join the group performance during one of the evening shows. Guests can also put their musical knowledge to the test at an NSO-hosted quiz. The orchestra will play extracts from famous and favourite pieces while asking questions that will range from musical theatre to film scores, classical to pop.
With so many chances for guests to take a seat and enjoy or get involved during the voyage, this 15th anniversary voyage will be one to remember.

Talking about his time spent on board over the years, Anthony said:
Voyaging year after year on Queen Mary 2 with Cunard is like returning to a happy family. Some of the people I have come to know on the ship have been there for a long time, and without exception, they are all fiercely proud to serve on the world’s only ocean liner for a company that has a lineage stretching back to the mid-19th century. They have a bond, not only to each other but also to their passengers. Personally, I see some of the hotel managers, captains and entertainment directors in their time ashore, and over a good meal we talk about the various voyages we have taken together, the sights we have seen and the entertainment we have offered.”
Justin Pearson, Managing Director and Artistic Director of the UK’s NSO, added:
“Cunard and NSO are both masters at orchestral manoeuvres, moving in harmony. Long may they sail together.”
