Knowing your numbers means taking action to measure and understand important statistics about your health such as your blood pressure, cholesterol, and body weight. Having these checked regularly and knowing what they mean is a great first step toward better health and wellbeing and can help to prevent major health issues before they arise.
There’s lots of ways you can get to know your numbers this September:
Our confidential health kiosk is back! From Monday 23 September – Friday 27 September, head over to the Know Your Numbers health kiosk in the Atrium for a confidential heath check and learn more about your numbers related to blood pressure, weight, and body mass index (BMI). No need to book! The Kiosk is super discreet, and your reading will remain confidential.
NOW FULLY BOOKED – Free cholesterol tests – On 18, 24 and 26 September the Occupational Health and Wellbeing team are offering free face to face cholesterol tests.
Free prostate cancer blood tests (for ages 40 and over) – On Wednesday 25 September, from 10:00 – 14:00, My PSA Tests will be running a prostate blood test clinic at Carnival House. Prostate cancer can affect anyone who has a prostate. It affects 1 in 4 black men and 1 in 8 white men (including trans women and non-binary individuals) over 50 . The risk increases with age and if there is a history of prostate cancer in the family.
To book a free prostate blood test, simply register on their website and book onto the Carnival UK testing event using the code: CS24 selecting a time slot that suits you. If you have any problems booking, please contact: OHS@Carnivalukgroup.com
The test will only take a few minutes – a quick blood sample will be taken, and you’ll be notified when your results are available to view online. My PSA Tests are a charitable organisation who support and promote health testing for all men and women over the age of 25.
