This Friday is International Women’s Day, and this year’s theme is Inspire Inclusion. When we inspire others to understand and value women’s inclusion, we forge a better world. And when women themselves are inspired to be included, there’s a sense of belonging, relevance, and empowerment.

Leading the way in focusing on issues relating to gender, our employee-led network Athena has re-launched with new leadership, and is inviting everyone to get involved. We caught up with Athena leads Brodie Hanley-McIntosh, P&O Cruises Events Manager, and Emma Rogan, Cunard Trade Marketing & Sales Operations Senior Manager, to find out more…

“To celebrate International Women’s Day, we’re collaborating with Women Warriors; an employee-led network in our US offices, whose mission is to cultivate leadership skills and advocate for gender equality in the workplace by enriching relationships across genders, encouraging connections, and empowering their community.

The Women Warriors team is hosting an online event with Bettina Deynes, Global Chief Human Resources Officer of Carnival Corporation & plc. Bettina has had a fascinating career with an interesting story to tell – we highly recommend joining this one!

Put a reminder in your diary and join the event on Teams at 16:30 UK time Thursday 7 March. And don’t forget to join our Women in Tech community today 6 March for:

  • Meet and greet in the Atrium, 12:00 – 13:00
Pop along for a chat to find out more about the community and enjoy a sweet treat!
    .
  • Q&A panel event, 13:00 – 14:00 in the Floor 4 Collaboration Space
Whether or not you’re interested in tech, and regardless of the gender you identify as, there’s lots of interesting work and activity to be shared by our panellists that all of us can be inspired by and learn from. Save the date and add it to your diary here.

Keep the conversation going
Whatever your gender, Athena is here for you; to spark conversations on issues relating to gender and to help the business find creative ways to address them. Interested in joining us or just want to find out more? Email the team at athena@carnivalukgroup.com.”

It’s up to all of us to champion inclusion – get involved and inspire inclusion in your role and beyond. A great way to do this is to get involved with our employee-led networks. Find out more here and sign up by Friday 8 March.
