Our fleet sail on the world’s magnificent oceans and we’re committed to our responsibility to help preserve and protect the marine environment that we rely on. To do this, we must live by our Culture Essentials, specifically Speak Up, Improve, and Respect & Protect, to help preserve our oceans for the long term.
With this in mind, in September Carnival UK are supporting the Marine Conservation Society (MCS) by joining in with the Great British Beach Clean. This initiative not only supports the cleaning of beaches themselves, but information on the items we collect will add to the MCS’ body of research and help to drive further conservation activity.
We’re looking for 30 volunteers to get involved – whether that be as individuals or as a team. The event will be taking place at Calshot Beach on Wednesday 20 September.
Please register your interest here if you would like to be involved.
If we have more than 30 volunteers, we’ll pick our beach clean team from those who have expressed an interest. Please note that you’ll need your line managers to approval for attending the day.
We’ll arrange transport, ideally through car share, but if that isn’t possible, we’ll arrange a coach, and will also provide lunch for our volunteers at Calshot, as well as all required PPE for the day too.
If you have any questions about the day please get in touch with Dan Brown, Senior Manager, Sustainability.
Thank you very much for your interest, and hope to see you on the day!
