Teams ship and shore recently came together to celebrate Armed Forces Day (24 June) and Reserves Day (21 June) with events to show support for the men and women who make up the Armed Forces community: from currently serving troops and reservists to service families, veterans and cadets.
Alongside activities across the fleet, the team on Iona proudly flew the Armed Forces Day flag on Saturday 24 June whilst alongside in Southampton, held a get together on Sunday 25 June, and baked a special cake. The armed forces were represented onboard by: Nursing Officer Sally Webster who is also a Captain in the Army Reserves, Hotel General Manager Gordon Marshall, who is also a Sub Lieutenant in the Royal Navy Reserves, Security Officer Steve Wakeford, a Veteran of the Military Police, and HR Manager Charles Stewart who was a lieutenant in the Territorial Army Reserves.

Shoreside, our CUK Military, Veterans, and Partners (MVP) Community hosted an event in Carnival house. Members of the MVP Community explained how their experiences and the skills they developed in the military community support them in their current role and attendees had the opportunity to ask questions and learn more about the value that veterans add to CUK.

Here at Carnival UK, our Military, Veterans & Partners (MVP) Community exists for colleagues with a connection to the Armed Forces – as a reservist, veteran or partner of someone who does.
We were also the first cruise operator to sign the Armed Forces Covenant, representing a public commitment by CUK to support those who’ve served, are serving, and their partners, as well the millions of veterans out there who cruise with us.
