In early June Adora Magic City, also the nickname for Shanghai, was launched and floated out from the dry dock to the quayside where the outfitting activities will continue in preparation for sea trials later this summer.
This milestone, for the first cruise ship to be built in China, was celebrated by many key stakeholders attending a ceremony at the Shanghai Waigaoqiao Shipbuilding Co. Ltd (SWS) shipyard.
Roberto Gonzalez, Principal Manager, Project Management in China was there in person, shared this:
“This was a special milestone for the ship and the project overall. I felt personally proud to be able to be here in person and a part of the celebration.
We have a busy few weeks ahead of us as we prepare for sea trials later in the summer so taking time to celebrate this milestone together was important.”
During July, Adora Magic City hit another milestone and undertook it’s first sea trial, the photo below is of the combined Adora Cruises and CCS Shanghai Team as well as representatives from the Technical Department.
Talking about the sea trials, Alex Tunstall, Senior Director, Contract Management (China), said: “It’s was very productive to have both the teams working together and sharing ideas and information. Thanks to everyone who was involved.”
