First of all thank you to everyone who took the time to nominate a colleague for our recent round of CCS Star Awards for 2023, we had a total of 16 nominations with several individuals receiving more than one nomination which is fantastic.
It’s great to see so many of you recognising others who are living and breathing our Culture Essentials. It was a tough decision to make but as we announced at the recent town hall, our winners are:
Simon Pattison (Southampton) for Improve and Respect & Protect
Simon received two nominations recognising that he has been demonstrating both Improve and Respect & Protect culture essentials. Both nominators included in their nominations that Simon displays all of our culture essentials and so picking just one was not an easy choice.
For Improve, Simon was called out for always looking for ways to do things better and encouraging his team to do the same. He’s ideas and solutions focused with an open mind. In the Respect & Protect space, Simon’s nominator recognised how he always takes time to call out the achievements of his colleagues, often writing long and detailed nominations for awards like this. He really brings to life that a project is a team effort across multiple departments.
Luca D’Ambrosio (Papenburg) for Improve
Luca’s nomination highlighted how he has been showing his skills and great team spirit and co-operation with the brand when dealing with all the PoD items onboard P&O Arvia – a particular challenging delivery that took place during the Christmas period and required a small number of the site team to sail with the ship.
His nomination went on to say that he’s interested in problem solving even if matters are not his tasks. Appearance in the meetings with brand, yard and contractors is really calm, polite and professional. Congratulations Luca!
