Carnival UK supports Deck, Engine and Electro-Technical Cadetships on the HND (High National Diploma), Foundation Degree, Scottish Diploma, Honours Degree and Fast-Track Graduate programmes, supported by practical experience onboard our fleet.
With the successful delivery of Arvia and the forthcoming delivery of Queen Anne, as well as our successful internal promotions process, we’ve identified a demand for Junior Officers. To enable the business to meet future workforce demands, we’re pleased to announce that we’re increasing our Cadet intake by 50%.
Our current UK Cadet programme is financially supported by Government funding and enables us to provide first class training at various academic levels, including our new graduate route for Engine and Electro-Technical pathways. Whilst we continue to increase our CUK Cadet programme, in addition – to support the 50% increase – we’re also pleased to announce that we have recruited three cadets from New Zealand, who’ve recently embarked on Queen Elizabeth. This is an excellent opportunity to expand our Cadet programme, bringing new and diverse talent into the fleet.
To enable CUK to meet our increased target, the Cadet Team attend many events throughout the year, predominantly linked to the four maritime colleges we use. We’re looking to expand our geographical presence across the UK by attending more careers fairs, schools events, national careers events and so on, throughout the UK.
This is where we need your assistance! We’re calling all UK-based experienced seafarers who would like to support this initiative by, in turn, supporting the Cadet team. We need you to help represent Carnival UK at events local to you; whether manning a CUK stand at a careers event or talking to a class of students at your local school. Raising the awareness of the Maritime Industry is key to attracting the next generation of Cadets, Officers and, ultimately, Leaders.
